As some of you may or may not already know this week I left my job with the U.S. Army. No, it is not to manage the Tigers as the rumors have stated. I have accepted a Senior Web Developer position at Quicken Loans.
Over the past five years with the U.S. Army (TACOM) I’ve met some really great people and worked on some of the most gratifying projects I’ve ever had a chance to work on. I have enjoyed every single minute at TACOM and will forever cherish the memories and friendships I’ve made. I will be forever grateful for the kindness and support they’ve shown to me through the years. From day one the people there have been extremely accommodating and amazingly nice. It has been a wonderful place to work, and my coworkers have grown to be more like family to me.
It was a very difficult decision to leave a “secure” and comfortable job with the US government to go work for a private sector company but I feel it not only is a better fit for me but will also offer more opportunities in my future. Some have called it a leap of faith, others have called me stupid for leaving but something I learned a long time ago… if you want to go somewhere in life you are not going to get there by sitting still.
Again, I want to thank my U.S. Army (TACOM) family for everything.
On Monday I will start a new chapter in my life; but I will never forget the characters I’ve met in the past ones.
