INSPIRE 2015 – My Year In Photos / video

I’ve had many great years in my lifetime but few can compare to the year I had in 2015! 2015 was a year that started out great and only got better.

From a trip to Miami where my wife and I fell in love with our Capuchin “Monkey Friends” and I got to wrestle a baby Grizzly Bear named Eva…Took my son and Dad to Cincinnati for the MLB Home Run Derby & All-Star Game and then spent a month living a block away from the ocean in San Diego… Went to a pretty sweet basketball game and flew on a private jet for the first time. I gained a ton of new, talented and amazing friends in 2015 and rid my life of people who tried to inject their negativity into my life.

But the best thing that happened in 2015 was that I decided that I no longer could wait to start sharing my story with people. I set out to help inspire as many people as I could and with the help of Dan Gilbert and his amazing team I have been able to share my story with almost 6,000 people! And this is just the start. 2016 will be the start of a whole new chapter in my life and I can’t wait to inspire more and share my story with the world!

The point of this video and post is not to brag about the year I had but instead to inspire you to be what you want, do what you want and make your dreams come true. If I can do it, you can too! Just like the song says… “You can be the greatest, You can be the best…You can go the distance, you can run the mile, You can walk straight through hell with a smile…You can be the hero, you can get the gold… Breakin’ all the records they thought never could be broke… Do it for your people, do it for your pride…How are you ever gonna know if you never even try?”

May 2016 be your best year yet! Remember that the only person that can stop you from being your best is you… #DontBeYourOwnSpeedBump

Getting Around

Getting Around

For the first 18+ years of my life if I wanted to go somewhere away from my house I had two choices in how I was going to get there. My first option was to use my power wheelchair (or "electric chair" as I call it) so that I can get around on my own when I get to where I’m going. But as you can imagine trying to get a ride when you got a 300+ pound chair attached to your butt isn't easy. So I had to have my parents drive me around in the family van. Oh and if we forgot to charge it the night...

Next Chapter

Next Chapter

As some of you may or may not already know this week I left my job with the U.S. Army. No, it is not to manage the Tigers as the rumors have stated. I have accepted a Senior Web Developer position at Quicken Loans. Over the past five years with the U.S. Army (TACOM) I’ve met some really great people and worked on some of the most gratifying projects I’ve ever had a chance to work on. I have enjoyed every single minute at TACOM and will forever cherish the memories and friendships I’ve...
